SAN NIcola

this poster was inspired by the fact that we live now in the region which enshrines the bones of San Nicola (Saint Nicholas), better known as Santa Claus. San Nicola was a Greek bishop and saint in the 4th century who was living in Lycia, part of modern-day Turkey. His relics where “furtively translated” (stolen) to Bari, the capital of Puglia, and many centuries later his destiny somehow repeated when Coca Cola “furtively translated” his image to its own brand. This history seems very much an analogy of “modern man” to us.
